TELLING ME

The earth revolves in ellipses.
The hands of the clock move in circles.
Hills and villages are traversed by gypsies.
The water in a waterfall gurgles.

No one tells anyone to do anything-
Why should anyone tell me?
Even gods give choices to everything
Asking us to choose and accept with glee!

When I ask you, you do not tell.
When you ask, I tell you.
You tell me to distinguish between heaven and hell-
While you tell yourself that there is nothing such, because of no clue!

You tell me to do this thing in that manner
While you do that thing in this way!
Why, then, do you raise truth’s banner?
When lies are the only thing you tell, and say!

Don’t tell me,
If you don’t practice what you preach.
Don’t tell me to ask you! See!
When you ignore and screech!

- Abhishek Syal

This poem is written with the mindset of a teenager, or a college student. It is in this age that he dwells a lot on the duality that the common world gives his eyes to see and his ears to hear! It envisions the growth self-realization and individualism, to which he is attracted fatally to. He is the member of Gen-Y, the latest generation, and therefore, he believes in absolute, and cannot believe in anything which has no existence or proof or is devoid of logic behind its existence. There is also a surge of rightful attitude, which asserts one true self, in the direction towards an Identity. However, he believes in no God, and no spirituality, the ideals of which are replaced by the Self.

Notice the starting letter of Gods in the poem. Any difference? Now, Can you guess why???

REVIEW ON ‘IF’

An invigorating reading…

One of Rudyard’s most famous poems, it stands out with the message in every line, every word. It tells us that we control our own lives, with the choices we make. It speaks of the ideal being, the MAN.

In a letter ‘If’, he paints a portrait of the traits of the ideal person, and how that ideal person views his life, how he faces Life and how he makes his choices.

He exemplifies how time is important, and to employ it duly. It subtly unveils the Highest Truth of Life, giving us with Noble qualities to imbibe. Life is there, but it runs out with Time. The marble covers us at Death, but our Deeds form an armor to being a slave to Oblivion, rendering us Immortal and adorning our souls with the crown of Victory over Life’s tryst with our inevitable mortal destiny.

The poem has an element of Gandhian Philosophy in it. He also voices the Gita, to treat Triumph and Disaster alike, which are two faces of the same Coin of Life. We are the coins, and how we take it— is a measure of our inner happiness in our heart, and, what qualities we enact through our actions, they form the value of that picture on the coin in the hearts of other men.

The Ideal Man is the one who is not perfect, neither does everything perfect, but does everything dutifully. He is the one who has the courage to take a step ahead in the Right Direction. He is the one who is revered by all in their hearts, and looked up to, for serving the mankind and being a man, in true spirits. Kipling, in his legendary poem, has unfurled this portrait remarkably in front of us, through his immortal lines.

Forever, You, The Great One !

You are noble and true

Your heart is then, pure

Your blood in your veins is fragrant

Your feelings are those of God

Fragrant of Divinity

Radiant of Light

Purity of Truth

You, The Great One !

Once When You Learn to Be Great..

Once when you Learn to be Great

Once when your name has stirred souls

Once when your work has been awakening

You become Great in the Eyes!

When You are noble and true

When Your heart is pure

When the blood in Your veins is fragrant

Your feelings become those of God!

Once When You Learn to Achieve...

Once when you learn to achieve

Once when you are not scared of wrong

Once when you still believe in victory

You have the greatest accomplishment...

When you become the best

When you are treated like king

When everyone looks upto you

You learn to look ever upwards

When people smile at you

When you become the icon

When you become the synonym of success

You learn to be unaffected

When you wear the crown of glory

When you wear the wreath of Victory

When your name is writ in golden letters

You learn to be Great...

Once When You Learn to Live...

Once when you learn to live

Once when you walk your way

Once when you believe in yourself

You get to the beyond ...

When You raise your head

When your work is there

When you do it different and better

You get respected ...

When you get approved

When you get selected

When you are looked at

You have learnt well...

When you do go

When you do make efforts

When you are still going the rough way

You learn to achieve...

Once When You Realize the Pain..

Once when you realize the pain...

Once when you get to live lonely

Once when you start trusting yourself

You start doing the Right Thing...

Once when you live on your Self

Once when you do for yourself

Once when you work hard in your own song

You start to learn yourself...

Once when you Stand on your feet

Once when you can see the world Ignorant

Once when you have raised your head

You have learnt to live..

Once When You have been Hurt...

When you have been hurt

When you have been shot at

When you have been unheard to

When you have been treated non-existent

You get the pain of unnamed...

When your name was dumb headed

When all people did was to laugh at you

When you walked the Earth lame

When your laughter was a joke

You get hurt of untitled...

When no one believed in you

When all you could do was wrong

When you had no sense

You get to know your broken heart...

When no one shows love to you

When no one see you pass away

When you are vanished for them

You realize the pain...

Visit to Jaipur...

Recently, I visited Jaipur. Wow! Liked the city... Its all poles... I secretly think that geography started from this place!!!.. lolz

Anyways, the City Palace museums were simply enthralling.

With all those robes of royalty, one can easily be left open-mouthed gazing at the intricate handiwork of Indian artisans. It is said that it took around 2 yrs to make a single embroidered robe.

A must see!!!

The collection of swords is amazing! Even their arrangement is artistically done by the Keepers, who were soldiers of the ancient times. One bejeweled dagger was beautiful. One cannot believe that such beauty could be created on the instruments of inflicting death.

Perhaps, that symbolizes that even death is beautiful, if it is rightly awarded. What I mean here is purely of philosophical nature, that , Victory of Right Over Wrong. Good Over Evil. Even through the means on inflicting death. And Protecting and Upholding the Eternal Rights of mankind.

Can you guess what more I witnessed?

There is a collection of silver jars, the largest in the world, which was made from silver coins! They even have a record in Guinness Book Of World Records!

I even saw the ever-intriguing Jantar Mantar.

For this, all I can say, why don't you go there, and experience yourself in the Sky on Earth !!!
